For those not familiar with David Greene, here's a little background information..

Since the age of 7, he has dedicated his life to football and still continues to do so, and, like so many young boys, his dream was to play football professionally.

Although his dream did not come true, he did enjoy a spell at Tottenham Hotspur under Terry Venables' leadership. Whilst at Spurs, David and his twin brother Dennis made history by being one of the two sets of brothers playing in the same Tottenham team.  The other brothers in that game for Tottenham were David and Gareth Howells.

David went on to play over 500 games at the top of non-league football with such clubs as Woking, Slough Town, Chelmsford City, Heybridge Swifts, Stevenage and scored the last ever goal at Roades Avenue for Bishop Stortford before they moved on to their new ground.

Nearing the end of his playing career, David went on to become player/manager at Harlow Town, and after 3 successful seasons he moved up the leagues to manage Heybridge Swifts in the old Ryman Premier league.  His leadership was rewarded with the honour of winning the Rymans "Manager of the Month" at both clubs.

He also guided Heybridge to the first round of the F.A Cup for only the third time in their history, where they played high flying Bristol City, then managed by Danny Wilson. This game was featured on Match of the Day, but, unfortunately, the run ended at the hands of Bristol City.

He resigned from Heybridge at the end of the 2003 season and took on a massive challenge by moving to Spain and setting up the European Soccer School in partnership with Charlton Athletic Football Club.

David signing extended 4 year contract with directers of Charlton football club

Over the next five years, David opened training centres in various parts of Spain and at one time had eight teams under the Charlton name in the Spanish Federation Football League.
During this time, he became a student of the game gaining his UEFA coaching licence. He attended many other F.A courses,  receiving certificates in goalkeeping, psychology, player and match analysis, fitness in football, planning, preparing and evaluating coaching sessions, and nutrition.

Since his return to Cheshire in August 2008, he's eager to get back into football management and write more football drills books on various aspects of football.  David believes there is a vital role football books can play in changing players performances.  Football is one of those games where you never stop learning, and the more you study, the more successful you will be, whether you're performing, coaching or managing.

David has written five books based on improving players and team play through football drills, and now created his latest book the footballer's bible.
"At last the footballer's Bible, eat, drink and train like a superstar"  details how the body responds to food for sport, and then guides you on an eating plan to improve your energy levels on and off the pitch. The book also explains why the timing of these foods is so important for preparation and recovery.
